RV Storage in Semmes, AL
Semmes sits just northwest of Mobile, close enough to I-65 that you can roll through without much fuss. For RV owners, the local storage scene is small: 4 facilities in town and another 12 nearby. That means fewer choices, so it pays to know what you're getting before you sign. Average rating here is 3.9, and the top spots have their act together.

What to expect from Semmes storage
Don't come to Semmes expecting a giant indoor RV resort. All 4 local facilities are outdoor or open-lot, and the average rating is 3.9. The best-known name is 1st Choice Storage, pulling a 4.2 from 90 reviews. My Storage Semmes is smaller at 3.8 from 22 reviews. Best Value Stor-All sits at 3.6 with just 11 reviews, and Semmes Boat & RV Storage doesn't have a rating yet. That spread tells you to read recent reviews rather than assume the big sign means the best service.
Outdoor storage and the Alabama sun
With no covered or indoor options in town, your rig is going to sit in the weather. That's fine, but sun and UV do slow damage to tires, decals and gelcoat. A quality cover helps, and so does parking with the worst sun on one side. Check the lot surface after rain; low spots can leave you bogging down. The 12 nearby facilities may include covered or indoor options, so widen your search if you want a roof over the roof. Access hours matter, especially if you like to hit the road early. Only one local facility advertises 24-hour access, so confirm gate times before you commit.
Security and practical checks
Most of the top facilities here are gated with cameras, and a couple welcome boats alongside RVs. That's a good sign for security basics, but gates and cameras still need a working lock on your part. Ask about lighting, on-site management and whether anyone lives on the property. If you're storing long-term, pull the batteries or use a maintainer and check your insurance policy for storage coverage. The cheapest spot isn't a bargain if you're worried about it every week.
