Covered and indoor spots are scarce
With just 2 covered and 2 indoor facilities in Mt Pleasant, competition for those spots can be tight. Covered storage shields your RV from sun and UV damage, which wears on decals, tires, and seals over time. Indoor storage adds protection from hail and winter weather, a real plus in Michigan. If you can't find an open spot, consider the 12 nearby facilities. Book early, especially before winter, when demand peaks.
What to look for in a storage yard
Check gate hours and access rules before you commit. Only 2 facilities in Mt Pleasant offer 24/7 access, so if you like to hit the road early, confirm you can get in. Security features like cameras and lighting matter too. Walk the lot and look for good drainage and solid gravel or pavement. Ask about insurance requirements and whether the facility requires you to carry your own policy. A quick visit tells you more than a phone call.
